The complaint against Shi, filed by Tony Depasquale on June 14, takes issue with a campaign poster published on the official Facebook page of Edison mayoral candidate Mahesh Bhagia on April 1, which stated Shi “was supporting” Bhagia. At the same time, Shi is himself the subject of a complaint filed in June by a 13-year resident of Edison, who alleges Shi violated the state code of ethics for school board members when he used “his official capacity as board president to support a political candidate” and friend.
